The Afghanistan Legal Studies and Research Association(ALSRA)expresses its deep concern over the Reports received and published concerning the forced displacement of residents from various areas of Bamyan by the Taliban. These arbitrary actions, carried out under threat and without the consent of the affected population, represent a blatant violation of human rights and the fundamental principles of human dignity.
The coercion of families to abandon their homes, lands, and livelihoods, especially under insecure conditions and in the absence of support, constitutes a clear breach of international obligations. It reflects a targeted act of hostility toward our Hazara compatriots and deliberately places them in the condition of internally displaced persons. This situation has resulted in severe violations of human rights and social security for the victims. It poses a serious threat to the social and historical fabric of the Bamyan region.
ALSRA urgently calls for the immediate and unconditional cessation of this unjust and harmful process, the access of independent institutions responsible for monitoring and documenting events, and the serious attention of the international community to the plight of all people in Afghanistan—particularly those in Bamyan and other affected areas. These actions, driven by resentment and discriminatory practices by an authoritarian group, are dangerously deepening divisions in our beloved and diverse Afghan society.
